I am thrilled to share an exclusive inside look from when I captained the recording session yesterday for composer Ed Bazel’s breathtaking new project, Reverie, tracked live at the legendary Abbey Road Studios with the world-renowned London Philharmonic Orchestra. Together, with GRAMMY®-winning conductor Michael Pepper, Emmy® winner Brad Ritchie, and the exceptional engineering team at Abbey Road, we recorded 12 orchestral arrangements of Ed’s piano compositions. Brad, Jordan Cox, and others at OnStaff Music created 7 of the arrangements, with GRAMMY® winner Kitt Wakeley arranging 1 piece, and I arranged the remaining 4.
Everything was completed in the historic Studio 2, the iconic room where musical history was written by The Beatles and countless other legends. Bringing these 12 expansive tracks to life in such an incredible acoustic space was an absolute honor.
Next up, the journey continues in Los Angeles. We will be recording piano overdubs at the legendary EastWest Studios in Hollywood—the hallowed ground where Frank Sinatra, The Beach Boys, and dozens of music’s greatest icons tracked their biggest hits. Stay tuned to davidfogelmusic.com for more exclusive behind-the-scenes updates as Reverie comes together!
